History of Tai Chi

Martial Art is the term whenever tossed it forms an image of action sequence that is full of punch, fights, kicks and other physical contacts. We are farming with this definition of martial art, but few get a handle on the fact that it has many powerful slow moves that assist in internal meditation which delivers calm, peace, and relaxation to the body. One of the popular martial art of this kind is tai chi which is a slow, rhythmic, and meditative body movement that holds the power to provide calmness and relaxation to the gray cells.

The history recorded the presence of tai chi 2500 years ago and this technique of martial art has taken descend from qigong which is an ancient Chinese study that has been used as a Chinese medicine before. History witnessed that the technique of tai chi is famous for its Herculean power that assists the performer to throw the assailant on the floor effortlessly with the use of internal energy and power. The greater external force of the attacker can be fought back with ease and by applying lesser force and power by the defender. In a nutshell, it can be said that tai chi is a series of slow and meditative body movements that were created for the purpose of self-defense and also to deliver inner calm and peace to people.


Classes of Tai Chi

There are basically three types or constituents of Tai Chi that are practiced all around the clump.

1. Yang style: The yang style is a demanding style as you need to keep the stance wide and knees bent in most of the drifts. It comprises of 24 movements in simple form and 108 movements in traditional one.

2. Wu Style: The Wu style is less demanding in comparison to the Yang style as it comprises of a narrower but higher stance where knees are not crouched. This style is a combination of 24-36 movements in its simple form and 100 movements in the traditional cast.


3. Tai Chi Chih Style: The tai chi chih style comprises of 20 movements that also includes a higher stance in the movements, but less weight is transferred from one leg to the other one which is less in comparison to other two styles.

All the styles of Tai Chi are practiced slowly and gracefully and hence, all of them assists in the improvement of balance and delivers calmness.


Advantages of Tai Chi:

The tai chi style of martial art has numerous amazing advantages for those who practice it on a steady basis:

1. Balance Improvement: Tai Chi is practiced by many people who are in their old age because balance is one of the requirements of human beings. Whatsoever of the work cannot be performed if there is an absence of balancing capacity. The balancing capacity starts falling after a certain age limit and there it becomes important to use something that improves balance power and tai chi assists in the same.

2. Slim chances of falling: Due to lack of balancing capacity and mental presence there are chances of feeling which may severely injure you. If a person falls, then there are high chances that the hip bone is involved and it takes a long time to cure which very painful. Tai chi effectively assists in the improvement of mental intensity and physical balance that reduces the chances of falling.





3. Increases durability and power:
Tai chi helps in reducing the effect of many muscular disorders that is very helpful as it increases the strength and power of the body. This simple style of martial arts affects the muscles positively and hence, increases the power of the sinews.

4. Increases capacity and speed: After a certain age the exercising capacity and speed of walking decreases, but practicing tai chi for a year increases the capacity and speed of the individual.

The ground behind the popularity of tai chi style is its simple technique and fewer chances of injuries.  It's high time to use medicines for improving strength, whose return is a hit or miss. Tai chi should be adopted to one's life, which goes through the hoops to keep you hale and hearty.
