Cancer is class of disease characterized by out-of-control cell growth. There are over 100 different types of cancers, and each is classified by the type of cell that is initially affected.  Cancer harms the body, when damaged cells divide uncontrollably to form lumps of masses of tissue called tumors. Tumors can grow and interfere with digestive, nervous, and circulatory systems. Tumors that stay in one spot and demonstrate limited growth are generally considered.


Generally people, who are affected by Cancer, will be on Chemotherapy and Radiation. They start worry about their diet.  Here are some precautions and methods of diet for cancer patient which is healthy.

Remember that good nourishment is a crucial weapon in the fight against cancer and any illness.  Good cancer nutrition can be vital in increasing your personal odds of survival.  Also remember too that natural compounds are likely to make you feel a lot better than synthetic pills, so here is little additional cancer diet, as a part of your own integrated cancer treatment programme.


Cancer patient must eat a balanced diet packed with nutrients that can help them to stay strong and energetic.  Mostly cancer patient should avoid stringent food.


Food Should Be Taken By Cancer Patient Are As Follows



  • Tomatoes
  • Carrots
  • Peas
  • Pumpkin and turnips for vitamin and fiber
  • Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage which contain plant chemicals that can convert bac oestrogen into good oestrogen and reduces cancer risk as well as the risk of a relapse.

  • Bitter gourd for lowering blood sugar levels.
  • Green leafy vegetables for calcium and iron.

    Grains and Nuts:-

         1.Oily Fish

         Fish oil will provide long chain omega-3, a powerful anti-inflammatory in the body that minimizes COX-2 and its abilities to drive localized negative hormones called eicosaniods which inflame and irritate.  Omega-3 has been shown to re-lengthen telomeres, which shorten when you have cancer putting the DNA structure at risk, and reducing longevity. 

    Oily fish also contain vitamin A, an important vitamin in the fight against cancer.
      Fish oils have been linked to reduced levels of prostate, breast and colon cancer.  Research shows they help prevent cachexia when having chemotherapy.  You will also get a little vitamin D from them, another proven cancer-fighter.

          2. Carrots

    Along with apricots, peppers and pumpkins, they provide cancer carotenoids like beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A, when required by the body.  1 cup of carrot juice, 2 sweet potatoes, 16 dried apricots add 4 cups of red cherries will each provide 25 mgs.  Do not eat them all at once – people have been known to turn a little orange. This is real cancer fighting drink.  Carotenoids are also found in natural food sources such as chlorella.


    3. Red and Yellow Peppers


    This is top source of vitamin C better than oranges.  Vitamin C strengthens your immune cells and neutralizes toxins.  Linus Pauling thought cancer patient should consume 2 gm per day. 
    A large red pepper is 250 mgs.
    200 mgs raw broccoli 15 mgs. 
    150 mgs papaya 90 mgs. 
    An orange 65 mgs. 
    Berries and cherries are great sources. 
    Red and yellow peppers are also good sources of carotenoids.

    4. Sunflower seeds

    Sunflower seeds are high in zinc and vitamin E.  Zinc helps vitamin C do its work and accelerates healing time.  It is important to improve prostate cancer; you need 15 to 25 gm per day.  Five tablespoons of sunflower seeds give you 10 mgs.  Best are oysters, 3 are enough.  Milk can block zinc absorption.  Sunflower seeds will also provide a little selenium.


    5. Brazil nuts are six cracked nuts that will give you your daily selenium. 100 to 200 mcgs is the goal. Selenium is a very potent anti-cancer agent.  Eight slices of whole meal bread, and organic egg or a large chicken breast will be enough.  Tuna, onions, broccoli and tomatoes contain selenium too.


    Recipes Can Be Taken By The Cancer Patients:

    Chicken Soup: 

    1 chicken breast

    1 tablespoon oil

    3 carrots

    2 celery, sliced

    1-1/2 onion

    2 cups of water

    7 cups of sodium(reduced)

    1 great northern beans

    Pepper and salt for taste


    Remove skin from breast of chicken and shred the meat.  Heat oil in a pot on medium heat and then fry carrots, celery, onion, and breast meat for 8 to 11 minutes.  See that the vegetables become smooth.  Now add some water and chicken broth and boil it.  Reduce heat and cover it and cook it for 20 minutes.  Now add beans and cook for 5-6 minutes.  Add some more water if it is thick, as we are trying to prepare soup.  Once the meat is cooked add salt and pepper.


    Broccoli soup:

    3 cups of broccoli florets

    1-1/2 cup of sodium chicken broth.

    1 spoon of olive oil.

    1 small onion.

    1 spoon of flour

    3 cups of low-fat milk

    Slat(required) and pepper(for taste)

    ¼ spoon of celery seed


    Take a saucepan and heat it.  Meanwhile boil broccoli and broth. Now reduce the heat and cover it on simmer for about 10 minutes.  See that broccoli becomes smooth.  Now make it a puree. Now take some oil in the pan and heat it and add onion and fry it for 5 minutes and now add flour and cook it by stirring continuously.  Now add mild and cook it.  Once it is thickened, add broccoli puree, salt, and pepper, celery seed to it.  Now serve it hot.


    Banana Muffins:-

    1-1/2 cup flour

    1 teaspoon soda

    1 spoon baking powder

    ½ spoon salt

    3 bananas(mash them)

    1 cup of sugar

    1 egg

    ½ cup butter

    ½ cup brown sugar

    1/8 cups of cinnamon


    Heat the oven on 375 degrees, line up muffin papers.  In a bowel mix 1/1/2 cups of flour, soda, and baking powder and salt.  In another bowl add banana, sugar, egg, and butter. Now add this banana mixture into the flour mixture and stir it until it is smoothed.  Serve them into muffin cups.  Now mix brown sugar and flour and cinnamon.  Sprinkle it as topping over muffins.  Keep them in oven and heat it up for 20 minutes.


    Cranberry Quick Bread:-

    ¼ cup of oil and butter

    2 cups of flour

    1/3 cup of brown sugar

    ¼ cups of granulated sugar

    11/2 spoons of baking powder

    ½ spoon of soda

    1 spoon of salt(according to taste)

    1 egg

    ¾ cups of orange juice

    ½ cups of orange marmalade


    Add flour, sugar, salt, soda, and baking powder in a bowl.  Before that, heat oven on about 350 degrees.   Now mix oil, egg, orange juice, and orange marmalade.  Now add them together and add cranberries. Serve it in a greased loaf pain and bake it for 60 minutes.  Remove it from oven and let it cook and then remove it from pan and serve it.
