Remedy One - Tea Tree Oil

It is a natural disinfectant that contains antifungal and antiseptic properties. It is popular oil for treating your toenail fungus as well as other skin infections. But, worried about the way to use this oil? Then, see how it should be done.

At first, add few drops of tea tree oil with a spoon of olive oil or orange oil or coconut oil.

Lavender oil contains some antiseptic properties as well as many volatile compounds which can prevent the skin infections and irritations. Orange oil contains anti-fungal properties, so adding any of them to tea tree oil will be beneficial. But be careful if you use orange oil as it may cause an allergic reaction so, you should test this on your skin before you mix it with tea tree oil.

After mixing the tea tree oil with any of the above-listed oils, apply the mixture over the infected part of your toenail and leave it off for 10 minutes.

Finally, scrub the affected area gently with a toothbrush. Do this daily for two to three times till you get positive results.

Remedy Two – Lemon Juice

Many of us know that lemon juice has both antifungal as well as antiseptic properties which are essential properties to treat toenail fungus. It also stops this fungus from spreading.

To get the positive effect for your toenail, apply the fresh juice of lemon juice on the affected nail and leave it off for 30 minutes and rinse off it with warm water.

One more method is, you can add this lemon juice with olive oil and apply this mixture over the infected toenail and massage the area. Before you rinse it off, leave it for few hours.

Here, the lemon juice will aid in controlling the fungal infections whereas, olive oil added in it smoothens your skin. So, follow them regularly for few days until you get good results.

Remedy Three – Backing Soda with White Vinegar

Most of our kitchens will have this baking soda readily available which can be used for preventing these fungal infections from growing as well as spreading but can’t kill it. It also neutralizes the odor of your foot.

So, prepare a remedy out of backing soda in the following way and use it.

At first, you need to add, one and a half cup of baking soda to ½ cup of Epsom salt, 1/4th cup of hydrogen peroxide and four cups of warm water. Mix them thoroughly and then finally add 1/4th of white vinegar to it.

Now, dip your affected toenails in this solution at least for 10 minutes and then wash off your foot with water and dry them. Repeat the same for two times daily for few weeks.

Instead of the above mixture, you can only add only white vinegar to warm water and soak your affected toenails in it.

Remedy Four – Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the good remedies for preventing as well as spreading of the fungal infections. It too kills the fungi and bacteria. All that you need to do for getting benefited from this is prepare a remedy out of it as follows.

At first, take equal parts of water and apple cider vinegar and mix them. Now, soak your infected toenails in this solution and leave it for half an hour. Then, wash your toenails and dry out them.

One more method is, prepare a scrub with few spoons of apple cider vinegar and ground rice flour. Now apply the paste over the infected area and gently scrub the area.

This works not only for infected toenails but also remove the dead skin cells and smoothens your skin. So, follow any of the methods daily until you get the best result.

Remedy Five – Liquid of Mouthwash

Mouthwash such as Listerine contains several compounds along with alcohol which acts as a strong antiseptic putting of harmful fungus and bacteria.

Mouthwashes are generally used to kill germs and bacteria in your mouth but you know, this can also be used to treat your toenail fungal infections. But, what is the right way to use it?

You can start it like this, take equal amounts of Listerine mouthwash along with white vinegar or else only mouthwash and put y our infected toenails in this solution.
Allow it to be in the solution for at least 30 minutes and gently scrub the area and rinse them. Follow this remedy for 1 or 2 times until the infection clears off.
