These dark circles are considered to be skin issues but since they tend to make someone look exhausted, tired and older, people look for options to get rid of them. And we have simple natural remedies which you can try right in your home to get rid of these. Let’s look at them now.
Almond oil is rich in nourishing vitamins and is also a good moisturizer. It helps in lightening the delicate skin around the eyes and reduces dullness. Regular massage of almond oil will help fade away the dark circles. You can also use oil which contains vitamin E that can help in eliminating the dark circles under the eyes. Let’s see the simple procedure which you can try in your home.
Gently massage with little almond oil over the dark circles before going to bed.
Leave it overnight and wash it off next morning using cold water.
Follow this procedure daily until you noticed the dark circles fade away.
Cucumber helps in lightening the skin and also has a refreshing, soothing cool sensation. It also has mild astringent properties which can help fix the dark circles naturally. Follow simple procedures which should help you out.
Take cucumber slices and make them chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Put these cold slices onto the affected skin for about 10 minutes and then wash with regular water. Repeat the same procedure twice in a day for a week to two and see the difference for yourself.
You can also take cucumber juice with lemon juice in equal proportions and mix well. Take a cotton ball and apply the mixture on the dark circles. After keeping it for about 15 minutes wash off with water.
The natural bleaching agents which are present in the potato help the skin to get rid of puffiness around the eyes and also fade away the dark circles.
Take chilled potatoes and grate them to extract the juice from them. Take a cotton ball and soak it in the juice you have extracted. Place, these balls over the closed eyes such that the juice covers the dark circles as well as eyelids for about 10 to 15 minutes. You can repeat the same procedure for few weeks.
The same procedure can also be used by taking chilled potato slices instead of juice.
Rose water’s mild astringent properties make it work as a good skin toner. It not only rejuvenates the skin but also has a much needed soothing effect on the tired eyes. Rose water is easily available in the markets.
Take rose water and soak the cotton eye pads for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Place the soaked eye pads on your closed eyelids for about 15 to 20 minutes
Wash it off once it is done. You can follow this remedy for twice in a day for few weeks.
The bleaching properties of the tomatoes help lighten the skin and give a much needed soothing effect.
Take a spoon of tomato juice and half spoon of lemon juice and mix well. Apply this mixture on dark circles for about 10 minutes. Wash with water. Follow this procedure twice a day for few weeks.
Make a juice of tomato with mint leaves, lemon juice, and salt and drink it. Consume the drink as soon as it is prepared in order to maximize the effect. Drink it twice a day for a week.
The skin lightening properties of Vitamin C which are present in lemon juice helps to remove the dark circles.
Take a fresh lemon juice and soak a cotton ball in it. Place the soaked cotton ball on your eyes for about 10 minutes and wash it off.
You can also make a thick paste by mixing a spoon of lemon juice, 2 spoons of tomato puree, a pinch of gram flour and turmeric. Apply this paste around your eyes gently and wash it off after 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat the procedure for 2 to 3 times a week.
Coconut oil is available in almost every home and it can be used to lighten the dark circles. Its moisturizing abilities not only help to smooth skin but also in preventing wrinkles and fine lines under the eyes.
Take coconut oil and then massage with it under the eye.
Leave it for an hour or two and then wash it off. Repeat the same until you are satisfied with the results.
The anti-oxidants and caffeine which are present in the tea help in removing the dark circles and improve puffiness under the eyes by shrinking the blood vessels and reducing fluid retention. Thereby, decreasing the swelling and also dark colouration.
Take used green/black tea bags and place them in the refrigerator for about an hour to chill them.
Place each tea bag on each eye for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove the tea bags and then wash it with water. You can repeat the same for few weeks to see the difference.
