Pimples are the antagonists in people lives.  Especially if they are teenagers they will definitely have to face the problem of pimples.  Pimples are a form of bacteria that gets stores on our face and other parts of the body.  Pimples generally occur on the face, neck, back and shoulders.

Even the market is filled with lots of products to avoid and prevent pimples, it is better we go with the natural methods instead of spending your money and time on those costly market-available products.  Also, the market-available products may contain harmful chemicals and lotions which may harm your skin even more.  So, let us look into few home tips to get rid of pimples.

1. Icing

Ice is a very commonly available thing at our homes.  Ice is similar to aspirin, it can be used to lessen the swelling and redness on the face.  Ice also improves the blood circulation. 

So, take an ice cube and rub it gently on the affected area.  Icing will help close the pores on the skin and also in removing the dirt and oil accumulated on the skin.  If it is done repeatedly on the pimples throughout the day, it helps in reducing the inflammation or swelling of the skin.

2. Turmeric Paste

Turmeric is a natural ingredient that we use in our cooking.  But turmeric has healing power which helps in healing of pimples as well as the marks obtained by them. 

Make a paste out of turmeric powder and water. You can also use yogurt instead of water.  Apply gently all over the face and let it sit on your face for about 30 to 40 minutes.  Don’t let it sit for more than one hour.  It may again raise other skin issues.  Wash off your face with cold water.  The results won’t be instant, but it works well.

3.  Cucumber Mask

Cucumber is one of the best available home remedies for reducing the pimples.  This works best for softening your skin and reducing the redness of the skin, but it is not effective when compared to the turmeric and icing. 

Take a cucumber and smash it into a paste.  Apply it directly on the affected areas of your face.  Let it dry for about 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.  Your redness will be reduced to some extent for sure.

4. Lemon

Lemon which is rich in vitamin C is quite a good remedy for getting rid of pimples as well of the marks they left on your face.  Lemon juice helps pimples dry up faster.  Make certain you use fresh lemon juice for this.  Take some cotton and dip it in the lemon juice and apply it over your face before going to bed.  When you wake up in the morning, wash it off with water.  The results will be fast than expected.

5.  Honey

Honey is considered as antibiotic in healing wound and pimple marks.  It also prevents infections.  It kills the bacteria that settled on our face for years.  Dip some cotton in honey and apply it directly onto your face.  It would be better if you make a honey mask on your face.  It would serve better than applying it on only affected areas.  Let it sit on your face as much time as you can.  Wash it off with lukewarm water.


Toothpaste is the first thing that gets into our mouth every morning.  If I say that it can be used in treating your pimple will you be shocked?  Anyway getting to the point, Use the white toothpaste on the affected area of your face to reduce pimple size and redness.

7. Papaya

Papaya acts as a cleansing agent in removing pimples and its marks.  Smash a piece of papaya and make it a fine paste.  Apply this on your face and let it sit on your face as long as you can.  Wash off your face with cold water.

8.  Garlic

Garlic even though it is little hard for its taste, it is best used in the prevention of pimples.  Garlic is an antibiotic, antiseptic, anti-fungal and antioxidant agent which will help to treat the pimples easily.  Just take a piece of garlic and gently rub it on the face and leave it for some times and wash it off with lukewarm water.

9.   Steam

Steaming is actually done to open the pores that were closed on your face.  In this case, steaming helps open up the pores which will remove the oils, dirt and bacteria stored in the pores for years. 

10.  Baking Soda

Baking soda is one of the home remedies we have for treating pimples and its marks.  Baking soda is best for the people with sensitive skin.  It won’t cause any kind of irritation.  Add some water or lemon juice to the baking soda and make a solution.  Apply it on your face and let it dry for some time.  Wash off your face after 15 minutes with warm water.
